Franciacorta Brut Millesimato Torre Ducco 2001
Franciacorta (Lombardy)
Chardonnay (70%), Pinot Nero (30%)
|
Sparkling Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✭ |
The wine shows a brilliant golden yellow color and nuances of golden
yellow, very transparent, good effervescence, fine and persistent perlage.
The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing and refined aromas which start
with hints of yeast and hawthorn followed by aromas of bread crust,
grapefruit, pear, apple, hazelnut and vanilla. The mouth has good
correspondence to the nose, a crisp and effervescent attack, however
balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors. The finish is persistent
with flavors of grapefruit, pear and hazelnut. Part of the Chardonnay used
for this wine ages in barrique. This Franciacorta ages in bottle on its
lees for at least 36 months.
