Rosso Toscana 2009
(Tuscany)
Sangiovese, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon

Red Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✭ |
Rosso Toscana shows a brilliant ruby red color and nuances of garnet red,
moderate transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing and
refined aromas which start with hints of black cherry, plum and black
currant followed by aromas of blueberry, violet, vanilla and mace. The
mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a slightly tannic attack and
however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, pleasing
roundness. The finish is persistent with flavors of black cherry, plum and
blueberry. Rosso Toscana ages for 6 months in steel tanks and for 3 months
in barrique. |

Good but not excellent red wine from Altesino, a simple Sangiovese wine with a bit of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Good fruit expression with a touch of wood, making this wine quite simple although pleasing. Finish with cherry notes.
