Alta Langa (Piedmont)
Pinot Nero (80%), Chardonnay (20%)
|
Sparkling Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✧ |
Alta Langa Brut shows a pale straw yellow color and nuances of greenish
yellow, very transparent, fine and persistent perlage. The nose reveals
intense, clean, pleasing and refined aromas which start with hints of
apple, banana and bread crust followed by aromas of yeast, butter,
raspberry, hazelnut, plum and pear. The mouth has good correspondence to
the nose, an effervescent and crisp attack, however balanced by alcohol,
good body, intense flavors, pleasing crispness. The finish is persistent
with flavors of apple, banana and plum. Chardonnay ages in barrique whereas
Pinot Noir in steel tanks. Alta Langa Brut referments in bottle on its lees
for 24 months. |
