Deep ruby red and nuances of garnet red, little transparency.

Intense, clean, pleasing, refined and elegant, starts with hints of plum, blackberry and dried violet followed by aromas of dried rose, black cherry, blueberry, tobacco, cocoa, cinnamon, cigar box, leather, licorice, rhubarb, mace, vanilla and menthol.

Properly tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, full body, intense flavors, agreeable.

Very persistent finish with long flavors of plum, blackberry and black cherry.

24 months in barrique and cask, 24 months in bottle.


Alcohol: 14%

Game, Roasted meat, Braised and stewed meat, Hard cheese

Un bell'esempio delle potenzialità dell'Aglianico di Taurasi, di grandissima eleganza e che dopo tutti questi anni racconta tantissimo sia dell'annata (che va detto è impeccabile) sia delle enormi qualità di questo storico vino.
Alla vista è ancora ben vestito con un colore bellissimo e vivo di rosso rubino con sgargianti sfumature di granato.
Il naso è un capolavoro di equilibri e pulizia: prugna e amarena subito, poi la violetta e la mora, oltre a una lunghissima sequenza di aromi terziari, liquirizia, cuoio e scatola di sigari su tutti.
L'assaggio regala grandissimo equilibrio tutto giocato fra la bella acidità tipica dell'Aglianico e la morbidezza regalata dal tempo, ben supportata da giusta tannicità e struttura.
Fra i miei Taurasi preferiti in assoluto e grandissima annata!
