Sole dei Padri 2002
Spadafora (Italy)
(Sicily)
This Syrah shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of garnet red,
little transparency. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing, refined and
elegant which start with aromas of black cherry, plum and blueberry
followed by aromas of black currant, blackberry, violet, vanilla, licorice,
black pepper, cocoa, eucalyptus and menthol. The mouth has correspondence
to the nose, a tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, full body,
pleasing roundness, intense flavors, good tannins. The finish is persistent
with flavors of black cherry, plum and blueberry. A well made wine. Sole
dei Padri ages for 12 months in barrique followed by 10 months of aging in
bottle.
