Merlot Linea Storica 2001
(Latium)
The wine shows a brilliant ruby red color and nuances of garnet red, little
transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean and pleasing aromas which
start with hints of prune and black cherry jam followed by aromas of
tobacco, carob, licorice, blackberry jam and vanilla. The mouth has good
correspondence to the nose, a slightly tannic attack and however balanced
by alcohol, good body, intense flavors. The finish is persistent with
flavors of prune and black cherry jam. This Merlot ages for 12 months in
barrique.
