Ghinibaldo 2001
(Tuscany)
Sangiovese (80%), Merlot (20%)

Red Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✧✭ |
Ghinibaldo shows a deep ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, little
transparency. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing, refined and
elegant aromas that start with hints of black cherry, plum and black
currant followed by aromas of violet, blueberry, vanilla, tobacco,
licorice, eucalyptus, chocolate, clover and mace. The mouth has good
correspondence to the nose, a tannic attack and however balanced by
alcohol, full body, intense flavors, agreeable. The finish is persistent
with flavors of black cherry, plum and black currant. A well made wine.
Ghinibaldo ages for 14 months in barrique followed by at least 12 months of
aging in bottle.
