Duca Enrico shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, little
transparency. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing, refined and elegant
aromas which start with hints of black cherry, blackberry and plum followed
by aromas of violet, vanilla, tobacco, blueberry, pink pepper, chocolate,
cinnamon, mace and menthol. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose,
a tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, full body, intense
flavors, pleasing roundness. The finish is very persistent with long
flavors of plum, blackberry and black cherry. Duca Enrico ages for at least
18 months in cask followed by 12 months of aging in bottle. |

Il nero d'Avola più entusiasmante di tutta la Sicilia! Elegante e schietto, già nel colore fa capire la genuinità di questo bellissimo vino di Duca di Salaparuta. Chi si aspetta trasparenze ridottissime come certi neri d'Avola, forse rimane deluso, ma è bene ricordare che il nero d'Avola non produce vini "inchiostrati", tuttavia il duca Enrico ha una veste rossa e bella densità.
Il naso è un'infinita sequenza di profumi, si parte dalla mora e dalla prugna, fino a giungere alle sensazioni speziate di vaniglia e cannella, passando per effluvi balsamici di mentolo. Bellissima la bocca, piena e sapida, regala deliziosa morbidezza e potenti sapori di mora e prugna. La persistenza è lunghissima e chiede un altro succoso sorso.
Uno stupendo vino dove si sente la "firma" del grande enologo e mago del Marsala Carlo Casavecchia che, a quanto pare, non lavora più per le cantine Duca di Salaparuta e Florio.
