Barbera d'Asti (Piedmont) Barbera d'Asti Superiore Nizza Neuvsent shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, little transparency. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing, refined and elegant aromas that start with hints of cherry, plum and blackberry followed by aromas of violet, vanilla, blueberry, pink pepper, tobacco, chocolate, clover, mace and menthol. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, full body, intense flavors, pleasing roundness. The finish is persistent with flavors of cherry, plum and blackberry. Barbera d'Asti Superiore Nizza Neuvsent ages for 16 months in cask followed by 6 months of aging in bottle.

Della Barbera Caranti ho già parlato in modo convincente anche se l'altra Barbera presentata all'evento diwinetaste con Cascina Garitina, cioè questa Neuvsent, mi ha ancor più convinto.
Vino di razza e spessore, esprime un corpo notevole ma ben sostenuto dall'acidità della barbera fino a cercare un equilibrio emozionante. Meno immediato del Caranti, certo. Ma che classe, però! Una profondità di impatto e uno spessore nobile, il tutto contornato da sapori che richiamano i frutti già goduti al naso. Un vino che consiglio a chi cerca qualcosa di carattere e vera personalità, il giusto e buono compromesso fra il legno e l'espressione immediata del frutto.
