(Apulia) Varius shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of ruby red, little transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing and refined aromas which start with hints of black cherry, black currant and blackberry followed by aromas of violet, plum, vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon and tobacco. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, agreeable. The finish is persistent with flavors of black cherry, blackberry and black currant. Varius ages for 8 months in barrique.

Alcohol: 13.5%

Assaggiato in occasione del Vinitaly di Verona.
Vino molto interessante di ottima personalità, connubio riuscito fra la tipicità pugliese, qui espressa dal Negroamaro, e gli onnipresenti vitigni bordolesi Merlot e Cabernet Sauvignon.
Il naso reclama la sua appartenenza al Salento (il Negroamaro è nettissimo nella mora e prugna) con incursioni per nulla invadenti dei tipici sentori del Merlot e del Cabernet, ribes nero su tutti. Molto equilibrato l'uso del legno che si nota ma senza mai rubare la scena al protagonista principale.
In bocca entra con in piglio tannico stemperato dalla morbidezza del Merlot e del legno, oltre che dal calore dell'alcol che dona piacevolissima morbidezza. Tornano netti la mora e il ribes che si distendono in bocca fino ad avvolgerla completamente. Un equilibrio decisamente impeccabile.
