Barbera d'Alba 2009
Barbera d'Alba (Piedmont)
This Barbera d'Alba shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of garnet
red, little transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing and
refined aromas which start with hints of cherry, plum and blackberry
followed by aromas of violet, blueberry, raspberry, vanilla, pink pepper,
mace and menthol. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a properly
tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors,
pleasing crispness. The finish is persistent with flavors of cherry, plum
and raspberry. This Barbera d'Alba ages in cask for 12 months followed by 2
months of aging in bottle. |
