Rosso di Montalcino 2011
Rosso di Montalcino (Tuscany)
Sangiovese
|
Red Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✧ |
This Rosso di Montalcino shows a brilliant ruby red color and nuances of
garnet red, moderate transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean,
pleasing and refined aromas which start with hints of black cherry, plum
and violet followed by aromas of raspberry, geranium, vanilla, rose,
strawberry and carob. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a
properly tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense
flavors, pleasing crispness. The finish is persistent with flavors of black
cherry, plum and raspberry. This Rosso di Montalcino ages for 7 months in
cask followed by 3 months of aging in bottle. |

Vibrant wine, not so deep in color, with a rich bouquet of red and black fruits, reminiscences of spices and herbs. Medium bodied with an interesting finish of red fruits.
