Calanco 2009
(Umbria)
Sangiovese (65%), Cabernet Sauvignon (35%)
|
Red Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✧ |
Calanco shows a deep ruby red color and nuances of garnet red, little
transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing and refined aromas
which start with hints of plum, black currant and black cherry followed by
aromas of violet, blueberry, blackberry, vanilla, cocoa, tobacco and
eucalyptus. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a properly
tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors,
agreeable. The finish is persistent with flavors of plum, black cherry and
black currant. Calanco ages for 16 months in barrique followed by 14 months
of aging in bottle. |
