Costa Volpara 2004
Le Crete (Italy)
(Umbria)
Sangiovese (70%), Merlot (20%), Barbera (10%)
|
Rose Wine |
Score: ✧✧ |
The wine shows an intense cherry pink color and nuances of onion skin pink,
transparent. The nose denotes intense, clean and pleasing aromas which
start with hints of strawberry and raspberry followed by aromas of cherry,
plum and cyclamen. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a crisp
attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors. The
finish is pretty persistent with flavors of raspberry and cherry. Costa
Volpara ages for 6 months in steel tanks followed by at least 3 months of
aging in bottle.
