Monferrato Rosso Alfero shows a brilliant ruby red color and nuances of
brick red, moderate transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing
and refined aromas which start with hints of cherry, plum and dried rose
followed by aromas of raspberry, dried violet, vanilla, tobacco, leather,
chocolate and menthol. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a
slightly tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense
flavors, pleasing roundness. The finish is persistent with flavors of
cherry, plum and raspberry. Monferrato Rosso Alfero ages for 14 months in
barrique followed by 6 months of aging in bottle. |

Questo vino ha avuto anzitutto il merito di farmi diventare un amante del Pinot Nero : nei miei precedenti incontri non avevo avuto fortuna e trovato bottiglie mediocri.
Ora ho affinato le mie armi e le mie conoscenze e sono spesso a caccia di Pinot Nero di valore.
Questo Monferrato Rosso Alfero 2004, che mi ha sorpreso felicemente ed emozionato, è un ottimo vino, a mio parere un Pinot Nero che ben si può ritenere tra i migliori della produzione nazionale, superiore a molte ben più costose bottiglie.
La ricchezza del suo aroma si accompagna a una struttura corposa, a un sapore intenso, equilibrato e armonioso, con finale notevole e suadente piacevolezza.
Consultando le varie guide mi ha sorpreso che appaia molto poco una sua adeguata valutazione. Apprezzo pertanto il vostro punteggio di quattro diamanti.
