Barbera d'Alba (Piedmont)
Barbera d'Alba La Castella shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of
ruby red, little transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing
and refined aromas which start with hints of cherry, plum and violet
followed by aromas of blueberry, cocoa, tobacco and vanilla. The mouth has
good correspondence to the nose, a slightly tannic attack and however
balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors, pleasing crispness. The
finish is persistent with flavors of cherry, plum and blueberry. Barbera
d'Alba La Castella ages for 12 months in barrique followed by 6 months of
aging in bottle. |
