Intense ruby red and nuances of garnet red, little transparency.

Intense, clean, pleasing, refined and elegant, starts with hints of black cherry, plum and blackberry followed by aromas of dried violet, blueberry, chocolate, carob, tobacco, mace, cinnamon, black pepper, vanilla and menthol.

Tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, full body, intense flavors, agreeable.

Persistent finish with flavors of black cherry, plum and blackberry.

Made with dried grapes. More than one year in cask.


Alcohol: 15%

Game, Roasted meat, Stewed and braised meat, Hard cheese

Gaglioppo di grande struttura e potenza, diverso dalla maggioranza della produzione di Cirò visto che è prodotto anche con uve appassite.
Già alla vista ci si rende conto che non è il solito Gaglioppo e il calice è di un colore rosso scuro e di scarsa trasparenza.
Il capolavoro è decisamente il naso che è praticamente infinito di profumi di fiori (ho sentito netta la viola appassita) e frutti (mora, prugna, amarena, mirtillo, fragola) con uno sviluppo terziario molto interessante e complesso.
Il finale è molto lungo come ci si aspetta da ogni grande vino e questo decisamente lo è.
