Cuvée Secrète 2012

Cuvée Secrète shows a brilliant straw yellow color and nuances of straw
yellow, very transparent. The nose reveals intense, clean, pleasing and
refined aromas which start with hints of apple, banana and pear followed by
aromas of plum, peach, citrus fruits, vanilla, acacia honey, broom,
hazelnut and mineral. The mouth has good correspondence to the nose, a
crisp attack and however balanced by alcohol, good body, intense flavors,
pleasing roundness. The finish is persistent with flavors of banana, apple
and pear. Cuvée Secrète ages for 6 months in barrique followed by 4 months
of aging in bottle. |

Finalmente sono riuscito a mettere nel mio calice il vino segreto di Caprai. Di questa cantina che si è detto praticamente tutto, apprezzo moltissimo il Sagrantino che qui si esprime ai massimi livelli.
Il Cuvèe Secrète è certamente un bel vino bianco e forse un po' troppo segreto visto che in questo caso la cantina non dichiara le uve usate e questo rimane una piccola delusione alla mia curiosità e che nemmeno questo sito, che è sempre molto curato e ricchissimo di informazioni, ha saputo soddisfare. Peccato. Vino segretissimo a quanto pare!
A parte questi dettagli il bianco di Caprai è godibilissimo in ogni singolo aspetto. Bello il colore che a tratti si fa quasi dorato, altrettanto entusiasmante il naso che è pieno di frutta esotica (forse c'è lo Chardonnay? Viognier? Sauvignon Blanc?) e un soffio minerale che è quasi balsamico. Buona acidità e di giusta struttura, anche il palato è soddisfatto.
Un bellissimo bianco che spero la cantina Caprai vorrà raccontarci in futuro con quali uve lo produce.
