Arquata Rosso 2002
(Umbria)
Cabernet Sauvignon (45%), Merlot (45%), Barbera (10%)

Red Wine |
Score: ✧✧✧✧✭ |
Arquata Rosso shows an intense ruby red color and nuances of garnet red,
little transparency. The nose denotes intense, clean, pleasing, refined and
elegant aromas that start with hints of black cherry, black currant and
plum followed by aromas of violet, blueberry, vanilla, tobacco, cocoa,
cinnamon, clover and menthol. The mouth has good correspondence to the
nose, a tannic attack and however balanced by alcohol, full body, intense
flavors, pleasing roundness. The finish is persistent with flavors of black
currant, black cherry and plum. A well made wine. Arquata Rosso ages for 24
months in cask and barrique followed by 6 months of aging in bottle. |
