Grecanico, Chardonnay, Nero d'Avola and Syrah: with these four grapes - expressed in five wines - Pianadeicieli has pleasingly surprised the participants to this event. An interesting opportunity which allowed to closely understand the winery from Menfi and its style of interpreting territory and wine making. To the event took part Annalisa Giambalvo - owner of Pianadeicieli together with her brother Nino - who illustrated to the participants the history of her winery and the philosophy which brings to the creation of their wines. The evening has begun with Chardonnay-Grecanico 2007, a pleasing white wine aged in steel tanks, which preceded the new white wine of the Sicilian winery and produced with 100% Chardonnay - Pizzo dei Corvi 2007 - which has met the favor of participants for its personality and elegance. The sequence of red wines has begun with Nero d'Avola 2007, presented in preview tasting in occasion of the event, which allowed participants to understand the style and the way of using wood at PIanadeicieli, balanced and never intruding. A style which is also confirmed in Syrah 2006, the wine which allowed Pianadeicieli to be successful in the Italian wine scene, presented in comparative tasting with vintage 2005. The tasting of wines and the enogastronomical matching have been done by Antonello Biancalana, whereas the creation of the dishes has been done, as usual, by Locanda dei Golosi's cuisine led by chef Emiliano Buccolini.
