The history and prestige of Leone De Castris, unfold by five excellent wines from Salento, have witnessed the success of this DiWineTaste event, the first one organized after having reached the important goal of 100,000 monthly readers. The evening began with Salento Verdeca Messapia 2006, a white wine which impressed participants for its freshness and aromas. In the course of the event was also tasted Salento Five Roses Anniversario 2006, the first rose wine bottled in Italy in 1943, flagship of Leone De Castris which, once again, proved its class and elegance. The event continued with the first of the two red wines, Salice Salentino Riserva 2003 - another historical wine of this prestigious winery from Salento - which preceded Salento Il Lemos 2002, both being very appreciated by participants. The ending note was represented by Pierale 2005 that, with its pleasing freshness and sweetness, as well as the fragrant aromas of Muscat Blanc, has perfectly matched the dessert. As usual, the dishes served in the course of the evening were created by Antonello Biancalana - who also conducted the tasting of wines - and prepared by Locanda dei Golosi's chefs led by chef Emiliano Buccolini, whereas the dining-room staff was led by maître Manuele Gentili.
