The extraordinary evening dedicated to Fazi Battaglia's Verdicchio, presented in its many interpretations, has literally charmed the over 100 participants to the event who had the chance to appreciate the many faces of the great white berried grape from Marches. The wines have been introduced by Dr. Dino Porfiri, Fazi Battaglia's wine maker, who unfolded the secrets and the story of Verdicchio. An event which allowed participants to understand one of the most interesting white grapes of the Italian scene, in a crescendo of sensations, from a dry still style to a charming sweetness. The evening has begun with Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Titulus 2007, famous for its exclusive amphora shaped bottle, followed by the new born of Fazi Battaglia's house, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Ekeos 2007, which enchanted participants for its lively character. Great success for the third wine of the evening - Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Massaccio 2005 - an excellent wine produced with overripe grapes, one of the great products of the prestigious winery from Castelplanio. Also the magnificent Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva San Sisto 2004, a well known Fazi Battaglia's wine, has been successful for the excellent balance between the typical qualities of Verdicchio and the use of barrique. The event has ended with Arkezia Muffo di San Sisto 2004, which charmed participants for the soft caress of noble rot Botrytis Cinerea. The tasting of wines has been conducted by Antonello Biancalana, who also created - as usual - the enogastronomical matching made by Locanda dei Golosi's staff.
