The event dedicated to Italo Cescon has been more than a chance to taste the excellent wines of this interesting winery from Treviso. It represented an unique experience to meet the exclusive and excellent grapes of Piave area: the red and strong Raboso and the elegant Incrocio Manzoni 6.0.13, the white berried grape created by Prof. Luigi Manzoni in the 1930s during his experiments at the "Scuola Enologica di Conegliano", result of the union of Riesling and Pinot Blanc grapes. To the event took part Ms. Graziella Cescon, who illustrated to the participants the history of her winery - established in the 1950s by her father Italo - and the interesting aspects of Piave territory and its grapes. The opening of the evening has been dedicated to the new Rosé Brut di Raboso Piave 2007, an elegant and interesting sparkling wine and presented for the first time to the public in the occasion of this event. A lot of interest was also showed for the excellent La Cesura Manzoni Bianco 6.0.13 2007, which impressed all the participants for its elegance and finesse. The event continued with the first of the two red wines - Amaranto '72 Riserva 2004 - a Bordelais blend to which is added Marzemino grape and which preceded the excellent Piave Raboso La Cesura 2003, a truly surprising wine for its particular characteristics. The tasting of wines has been conducted, as usual, by Antonello Biancalana who led participants to the sensorial discovery of Italo Cescon's wines and the grapes Incrocio Manzoni and Raboso.
