Extraordinary success for the event dedicated to the wines of Donatella Cinelli Colombini and to her wineries, completely managed and run by women. A wonderful and successful example of how the intelligence and the elegance of women can bring to the creation of great wines and of indisputable class. To the event took part Dr. Donatella Cinelli Colombini - not only the owner of Fattoria del Colle and Casato Prime Donne, but also the inventor of "Movimento del Turismo del Vino" (Wine Tourism Movement), the event "Cantine Aperte" (Open Wineries, a "wine day" for wine lovers) and Urban Trekking - who told participant the history and the aspects of the territories of Montalcino and Orcia, as well as the history of her wineries. To the event also took part Dr. Barbara Magnani and Dr. Alessia Bianchi - respectively wine cellar master and public relation manager of Fattoria del Colle and Casato Prime Donne. The evening started with the interesting red il Drago e le Sette Colombe 2005 - from Sangiovese, Merlot and Alicante grapes - followed by the excellent Orcia Rosso Cenerentola 2005, made from Sangiovese and Foglia Tonda, a forgotten grape rediscovered and reevaluated by Donatella Cinelli Colombini. The event continued with Brunello di Montalcino 2004, aged both in barrique and in cask, an interesting "well structured" style of Sangiovese, followed by the elegance of Brunello di Montalcino Progetto Prime Donne 2004, exclusively aged in cask and selected by a group of women tasters, a Brunello of rare and impeccable elegance, created by women for women. The evening ended with Grappa di Brunello, paired with the dessert, produced with the pomace of Sangiovese used for the production of Brunello di Montalcino. The tasting of wines has been conducted by Antonello Biancalana who also created the dishes matched to the wines, realized by Locanda dei Golosi, led by Chef Emiliano Buccolini.
