Season 2005-2006 of DiWineTaste's enogastronomical events has ended with the excellent wines of Castello di Corbara. Dr. Francesca Bernicchi - Castello di Corbara's agronomist - took part to the event and illustrated participants the details of the project in which the Umbrian winery is involved since two years, telling the winery's productive philosophy and the predilection for autochthonous varieties of the Corbara area.
The four wines tasted during the evening, as always matched to foods especially created for the occasion by Antonello Biancalana and made by Locanda dei Golosi's chefs, have told Castello di Corbara's philosophy and the qualities of its territory, in a journey began with Caio Grechetto 2005 and ended with Calistri Sangiovese 2003, presented in absolute preview to DiWineTaste's readers who took part to the event.
Calistri Sangiovese was preceded by the excellent Lago di Corbara Rosso 2004 - one of the most important wines of this winery and presented for the first time - which was preceded by Caio Rosso 2004, offering the opportunity to directly understand in the glasses, the organoleptic differences according to the wine making procedures used for their production, thanks to the qualities the two wines have in common.
