The season 2011/2012 of DiWineTaste events ended with Farbrizio Ressia's Barbaresco, produced at Neive with Nebbiolo cultivated in his vineyards in the Canova cru. The event dedicated to Fabrizio Ressia was - as a matter of fact - a return, an occasion to talk again about his wines. The protagonist of this event was Barbaresco, for this occasion tasted in three different vintages, in order to understand the character given by the vintage to each wine. To the evening took part Fabrizio Ressia, whom illustrated to the participants the characteristics of the Canova Cru and the organoleptic differences among the wines produced in the municipalities of Barbaresco, Treiso and Neive and part of the village of San Rocco. The event started with Barbera d'Alba Superiore Canova 2010, an interesting interpretation of the famous Piedmontese grape, produced in a territory at the borders of Alba and Asti. The event continued with the tasting of the first Barbaresco produced by Fabrizio Ressia. The first one was 2008, a vintage of remarkable elegance and balance, a wine capable of expressing the typical qualities of Nebbiolo's crispness, both to the nose and the mouth, while keeping its characteristic structure. The second Barbaresco of the event was produced in 2007, a warmer vintage which given the wine a fuller ripeness to aromas and a fuller body, while keeping its impeccable balance and crispness. The vertical tasting ended with Barbaresco Riserva Oro 2005, fruit of a long research and selection in vineyard, a wine of remarkable character and body, in perfect balance and of long persistence: qualities which allowed this Barbaresco to score DiWineTaste's five diamonds. The event ended with Even 2011, also in this case fruit of a long viticultural and wine making research, a dry wine produced with Muscat Blanc and aged in acacia wood casks, in which the aromatic strength of the renowned white grape joins a pleasing crispness and body. The evening has also been the occasion to thank Locanda dei Golosi, from the kitchen staff to the service personnel, for their precious collaboration and professionalism, culminated with a torchlight walk which greeted the participants of the event.
