Five wines, five expressions of a great territory and of the passion of Fabrizio Ressia. The evening dedicated to Ressia winery of Neive has in fact allowed participants to understand the wines of one of the most interesting producers of Barbaresco, recently awarded by DiWineTaste's tasting committee with five diamonds. Great interest has been shown the the first and only white wine of the evening, result of five years of Fabrizio Ressia's experiments. It is Evien 2009, a preview tasting for this event, interesting dry white wine obtained from Muscat Blanc grapes and with particular wine making techniques, giving a wine of absolute value, with intense and pleasing aromas as well as an absolutely dry taste, however round. The evening continued with the first of the four red wines of the evening, Barbera d'Alba Canova 2007 - completely fermented and aged in steel tanks - followed by Barbera d'Alba Superiore Canova 2008, second preview tasting of the event, interesting interpretation of the famous Piedmontese red berried grape, aged in cask. The event continued with the first of the two wines produced with the great Nebbiolo grape. The first of the two was Langhe Nebbiolo Gepu 2006, aged in cask, followed by the flagship wine of Ressia winery and awarded with five diamonds by DiWineTaste: Barbaresco Canova 2006. An excellent wine with elegant and balance, a perfect marriage between the magnificence of Nebbiolo and roundness given by the aging in wood.
