The new season 2013/2014 of DiWineTaste events begins with the excellence of Altemasi and the prestigious Vino Santo Arèle. The evening dedicated to Altemasi - the renowned Trentodoc made by Cavit - has been the protagonist of the new beginning of DiWineTaste events which also allowed the tasting of Trento Brut Riserva Altemasi Graal 2005 and the rare Trento Vino Santo Arèle 2000. To the event took part Mr. Domenico Jacobone, Cavit area manager for central Italy - who illustrated the viticultural and wine making activity of the winery of Trentino as well as the important research job done in collaboration with Istituto Agrario di San Michele all'Adige and Edmund Mach foundation. The evening mainly focused on the production of Altemasi classic method, a rare chance to taste the complete range, from Rosé to the prestigious Riserva Graal, DiWineTaste five diamonds. The event begins with Trento Rosé Altemasi - made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes - crisp and lively, in which can be perceived the generosity of Pinot Noir: a good start in order to understand the Altemasi style. It is then the turn of Trento Brut Altemasi Millesimato 2009, the most famous wine of the range, made of 100% Chadronnay and refermented in bottle on its lees for at least 48 months. The highest appreciation has been given to Trento Pas Dosé Altemasi 2005 and Trento Riserva Brut Altemasi Graal 2005, both made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, refermented in bottle on its lees for about 70 months: two examples of class and elegance with a character and power. The event ended with the rare and excellent Trentino Vino Santo Arèle 2000, a refined sweet wine produced with Nosiola grape, an amazing wine which, after just 13 years of life, promises a splendid future ahead. The tasting of wines and the creation of dishes paired to the wines of the evening have been conducted, as usual, by Antonello Biancalana.
