The five wines presented by Tenuta Valdipiatta have been fully appreciated by the participants to the event dedicated to Miriam Caporali's winery. The winery of Montepulciano has told its history through five wines, result of different grapes and wine making techniques, each of them however being expression of the territory. At the event took part Dr. Miriam Caporali - owver of Tenuta Valdipiatta - who told participants about the production of her winery and the characteristics of her five wines. At the event also took part Dr. Mauro Monicchi and Dr. Lidia Ceseri, respectively wine maker and agronomist of Tenuta Valdipiatta. The evening started with Rosso di Montepulciano 2008 - produced with Sangiovese, Canaiolo Nero and Mammolo - followed by one of the most particular and "rare" wines of Tenuta Valdipiatta, Pinot Noir 2006, very successful and appreciated by participants. The event continued with one of the two typical and representative wines of the territory - Vino Nobile di Montepulciano 2006, produced with Sangiovese and Canaiolo Nero grapes - an interesting wine aged in barrique for 6 months and 12 in cask. It is then the turn of another flagship wine of Tenuta Valdipiatta, Trincerone 2006, today produced in a Bordeaux style from Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot grapes, followed by the excellent Vino Nobile di Montepulciano Vigna d'Alfiero 2005, produced with 100% Sangiovese and aged for 18 months in barrique, certainly among the best wines of Miriam Caporali's winery. The tasting of the wines has been conducted by Antonello Biancalana - chief editor of DiWineTaste - who also created the dishes for the matching with wines.
