An evening dedicated to the excellence in company of Speri Viticoltori and the magnificent wines of Valpolicella. The event dedicated to the prestigious winery from Pedemonte has in fact allowed participants to appreciate the many faces of the wine of this area, from Valpolicella Classico to Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso, from Amarone della Valpolicella to Recioto. To the event took part Mr. Luca Speri, representing the fifth generation of Speri Viticoltori, who told participants the interesting aspects connected to Valpolicella territory and the productive philosophy from which are created his wines. The journey into the wines of this prestigious area of Veneto started from Valpolicella Classico 2008, produced with the classical grapes of the area - Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara - completely vinified in cement tanks. It has been then the turn of Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ripasso 2007, produced with the traditional technique of refermenting the wine with the precious Amarone's pomace. The following wine - Valpolicella Classico Superiore Vigneto Sant'Urbano 2006 - among the flagship wines of Speri Vitivoltori and considered as a "small Amarone" - has been very successful among participants. It was then the turn of Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Vigneto Monte Sant'Urbano 2005, awarded with five diamonds by DiWineTaste's tasting commettee, a magnificent wine confirming, year by year, the excellence of Speri Viticoltori. The event ended with the "sweet notes" of Recioto della Valpolicella Classico La Roggia 2005, another excellent wine of the winery from Pedemonte. The tasting of wines has been conducted by Antonello Biancalana, DiWineTaste chief editor, who also created the dishes of the evening and made by Locanda dei Golosi's chefs led by chef Emiliano Buccolini.
