The event dedicated to the wines of Umani Ronchi winery has offered to the over one hundred participants the chance to understand the rich and significant production of the winery of Osimo, in the province of Ancona, also allowing the appreciation of the most famous grapes and wines of Marches. To the event took part Dr. Stefano Bernetti - member of the family which today runs the winery, as well as commercial director of the winery - who illustrated the productive and wine making characteristics of his wines and the history of Umani Ronchi. The evening has begun with Pecorino Vellodoro 2007, a white wine produced in Umani Ronchi's estates in Abruzzo, in which are also produced Montepulciano d'Abruzzo wines. Talking about the wines produced in the territory of Marches, the event continued with the most famous white grape not to be missed in this region, well represented by Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore Casal di Serra 2007. It has then followed another typical and characteristic grape of Marches and that in recent years had a success of its own - Lacrima di Morro d'Alba - interpreted by Umani Ronchi with Fonte del Re 2007. Among the red wines of the winery of Osimo, a remarkable interest has received the excellent Rosso Conero Riserva Cumaro 2005, exclusively produced with Montepulciano grape, one of the most representative wines of Umani Ronchi. The event ended with the charming Maximo 2004, produced with Sauvignon Blanc grape affected by Botrytis Cinerea, also known as "noble rot". The enogastromical matching have been created by Antonello Biancalana who has also conducted, as usual, the sensorial tasting of the five wines of the evening.
