Timorasso and Barbera the protagonists of this event, expressed in the wines of Cascina I Carpini of Pozzol Groppo, in the Colli Tortonesi area in province of Alessandria. A story lived in six wines - a sparkling wine, two whites and three reds - which unfold the different interpretations of Timorasso and Barbera grapes. To the event took part Paolo Carlo Ghislandi and Maddalena Ghislandi, owners of Cascina I Carpini, who shared with participants their holistic vision of wine. Paolo Carlo Ghislandi has told participants how each Cascina I Carpini's wine is the result of the journey from vineyard to bottle, a rare and unique creation that the winery defines as "Art Wines". The event has also been the occasion for tasting Chiaror sul Masso 2008, the very first sparkling wine produced with Timorasso grape, interesting bubbles fruit of the long Charmat method. The event continued with Colli Tortonesi Bianco Rugiada del Mattino 2008, a wine of strong personality, mainly produced with Cortese and Favorita grapes, to which Timorasso, Barbera Bianca, Malvasia di Candia and Muscat Blanc give an absolutely unique character. It is then the turn of Colli Tortonesi Timorasso Brezza d'Estate 2008, genuine expression of this grape and of its characteristic minerality. The event continues with the three wines of the evening, in which Barbera plays the main role. The first one is Colli Tortonesi Barbera Sette Zolle 2008, produced with Barbera and a small part of Cabernet Sauvignon and Croatina, completely vinified in steel tanks. The second red wine - Colli Tortonesi Barbera Superiore Falò d'Ottobre 2006 - is mainly produced with Barbera to which is added Freisa and Cabernet Sauvignon, in this case aged in cask for 8 months. It is then the turn of Colli Tortonesi Barbera Superiore Bruma d'Autunno 2005 - flagship wine of Cascina I Carpini, produced with 100% Barbera and aged for 14 months in cask - a great wine showing a lively youth and having a long future ahead. The sensorial tasting of the wines has been conducted by Antonello Biancalana who also created the dishes paired to the six wines of Cascina I Carpini.
