Florio's Marsalas, proposed for the occasion in enogastronomical matching from appetizer to dessert, have literally enchanted the participants of the event with their endless magic of aromas and flavors. Dr. Carlo Casavecchia - wine maker and general manager of the historical Florio Winery - took part to the event and illustrated the extraordinary history of Marsala and the interesting aspects about the production of all the wines tasted in the course of the event. The tasting of the five Marsalas was conducted by Antonello Biancalana - who also created, as usual, the dishes matched to the wines - and leading participants to the extraordinary sensorial journey of the five magnificent Florio's Marsala wines. The event started with the splendid Marsala Vergine Terre Arse 1998 followed by the extraordinary Marsala Superiore Targa Riserva 1840 vintage 1997 and by the excellent Marsala Vergine Baglio Florio 1993. The last wine proposed in enogastronomical matching was the enchanting Marsala Superiore Riserva Donna Franca which, with its impeccable elegance and class, has been the magnificent companion for the dessert. The end of the event has been dedicated to the unrepeatable Marsala Superiore Riserva Ambra Garibaldi Dolce 1939, which characterized a real moment of meditation with its endless and incredible aromas: an unforgettable moment and an extraordinary journey back in time to the history of the magnificent wine of Sicily.
