Remarkable success for Roberto Ceraudo's wines which allowed the participants to this event to understand one of the most interesting wineries of Calabria. Located at Strongoli, in the province of Crotone, overlooking Ionian sea, wines of Ceraudo winery have impressed for their elegance and class, as well as for their excellent quality. To the event, representing the winery, took part Caterina Ceraudo, Roberto's daughter. The opening of the event has been assigned to the excellent Grisara 2007, an interesting white wine made from Pecorello grape, a local variety of Calabria rediscovered and used in this wine. Of different character, and however interesting as well, the second wine of the evening, Imyr 2007, produced with Chardonnay and aged in barrique. Remarkable success for Grayasusi Etichetta Argento 2007 - among the best rose wines of Italy - produced with Gaglioppo grape and aged in barrique, which introduced participants to the magnificent grape of Calabria. The event continued with the first of the two red wines of the evening: Dattilo 2005, the famous wine of Roberto Ceraudo, made from Gaglioppo and aged in cask, followed by the excellent Petraro 2005, produced with Gaglioppo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in equal parts and aged in barrique. All the wines of the evening have been introduced by Caterina Ceraudo, who illustrated to the over one hundred participants their enological and productive characteristics, whereas the tasting of wines and the food matching have been done by Antonello Biancalana and made by Locanda dei Golosi's chefs.
