An evening dedicated to the aromas of South Tirol and wonderfully told by the wines of Erste & Neue winery of Kaltern. Special guest of the evening Dr. Hannes Durnwalder - Erste & Neue's Sales Manager - who illustrated to the over one hundred participants the historical and productive aspects of the grapes protagonist of the evening: Sauvignon Blanc, Müller Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Lagrein and Goldenmuskateller. The five wines of the prestigious winery from Kaltern have been matched to the dishes expressly created for the event by Antonello Biancalana who - as usual - has also conducted the sensorial tasting. The event started with Alto Adige Sauvignon Blanc 2006 and Alto Adige Müller Thurgau 2006, to which was assigned the task of introducing participants to the elegant style of South Tirol white wines. The evening continued with the excellent Alto Adige Gewürztraminer Puntay 2006: a great wine which pleasingly surprised participants for its aromas and elegance. The only red wine of the evening was Alto Adige Lagrein Riserva Puntay 2004, once again, very appreciated with its food match. The event ended with the excellent Alto Adige Bianco Passito Anthos 2003, a great wine - impeccable in its balance between sweetness and crispness - produced with Goldenmuskateller, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc grapes in equal parts.
